Material Coordinator
Job Description
Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records: Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material. Responsible for maintaining accurate storeroom inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with internal and external customers
- Verify incoming materials against PO and quantities. Perform visual inspection, ensuring all products are not damaged or deteriorated. Fill out appropriate information on all packing slips
- Work closely with purchasing and accounting department to verify merchandise details (supplier, type of product, quantities etc.)
- Report incoming packages to appropriate department/end-user.
- Fill requisitions, work order, or request for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or production team.
- Responsible for inventory being organized and placed in appropriate bins
- Work with production and lead all kitting activity for production
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Maintain overall inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate shipments with customers.
- Local deliveries.
- Work with other departments on improvements to operational issues.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Required Education and Experience:
- Forklift experience is preferred.
Desired Skills and Knowledge:

- Basic knowledge of worker safety, warehouse safety, and forklift training.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, order filling and shipping.
- Knowledge of current business system as it pertains to warehouse operations.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 to 75 pounds. Employee will be required to make pallets and use a nail gun to construct customer pallets as required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Office - The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job Site - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
