San Jose Water Co. is a regulated private utility, and is one of the largest and most technically sophisticated urban water systems in the United States. They serve over 1 million people in the greater San Jose metropolitan area with high quality, life sustaining water with an emphasis on exceptional customer service.
SJWC engaged AIC to provide design-build integration services for the upgrade of a legacy Momentum PLC to a Schneider Modicon M580 platform. Due to limited existing documentation, SJWC required a team capable of conducting a thorough field assessment to determine existing control strategies and infrastructure.
As part of the initial phase, AIC developed a comprehensive submittal package that included, updated as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and detailed process control carrative. Following submittal approval, AIC developed and tested the new M580 PLC program. Where necessary, modifications were made to the AVEVA System Platform application to align with the updated control logic. AIC also performed on-site installation, commissioning, and verification testing of the upgraded system.
In addition to the PLC upgrade, SJWC contracted AIC under a Support Services Agreement to assist the internal Controls Team with ongoing and upcoming initiatives, helping to bridge personnel and technical resource gaps.
“Our experience with AIC has been nothing short of exceptional. The team’s ability to understand our needs and deliver beyond our expectations has truly set them apart. Their professionalism, dedication, and creative solutions have helped us achieve remarkable results. We highly recommend AIC to anyone seeking top-notch service and innovative solutions.“
